Matthew obtained his Certified Financial Planner, or CFP®, certification in 2015 and is a member of the Financial Planning Association.® He is insurance licensed, and holds his Series 65 securities license, which allows him to provide financial and investment advice as a fiduciary advisor. As a fiduciary, he is required to avoid conflicts of interest, operate with full transparency and always do what is in the best interest of his clients. Matthew is author of the book “Mind the Gap: The Cracks in the American Retirement System, " and co-author of the book "SHP Retirement Road Map: Your Map to Financial Freedom."
For over seven years, he has been co-host of the popular financial radio show “Retirement Road Map Radio Show,” which airs on WBZ, WRKO and WXTK.
Matthew, his wife, Diana, and their four children currently reside in the storied Ashmont Hill section of Dorchester, Massachusetts—not far from the Savin Hill neighborhood where he grew up. Graduating from the award-winning Boston Latin School in 1996, Matt went on to earn cum laude honors from the University of Connecticut in 2001, where he was awarded the dual degrees of Bachelor of Arts in history and Bachelor of Arts in English. In 2015 he earned Boston University’s Certificate of Financial Planning.
